New Header
After almost a week of sunny weather, the rain came back with a vengeance today. Thankfully the last piece of siding was put up right before the rain started pouring down.
Most of the work day was spent on the upper unit, finishing up the framing and switching out the old header that goes across the entry way and front addition room with a 2' x 10'. We also took out the second door frame to open up the entry way and give the front room a more unifying look. Most importantly, the giant beam adds structural support for the roof. We couldn't take down that wall at the front door because it's a weight bearing wall.
Got a phone call from Sincere Hardware this afternoon, the windows have arrived at their warehouse. We weren't able to pick them up today, and their warehouse is closed on the weekends, ugh! I can't wait to see the new windows installed.
